Important information for our Plan Members, Clients and Providers
On August 1, 2016, BlueCross BlueShield of the U.S. Virgin Islands (BCBS-USVI) will stop selling new group health insurance policies and renewing existing policies in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Some BCBS-USVI policies will remain active until the end of July of 2017. We are working with the USVI government and regulators to ensure a smooth transition.
Plan Members:
BlueCross BlueShiled of the U.S. Virgin Islands
You may continue using your health plan to receive services until your policy expires.
BlueCross BlueShiled (FEP)
These changes do not affect your health benefits.
Triple-S Salud
These changes do not affect your health benefits.
Clients:
- Your plan members will continue to receive covered benefits until their BCBS-USVI health plan expires.
Providers:
- We count on you to continue providing services to all our plan members.
- We will honor claims for covered services offered to any plan member whose healthcare policy is active beyond August 1, 2016.
- Some BCBS-USVI health plans will remain active until the end of July of 2017.
- Even after BCBS-USVI plans are no longer active, we will continue serving other plan members incluiding Federal Employees and Retirees of the BlueCross BlueShield Association, as well ass plan members of Puerto Rico-based employers.
